Katie and Wayne Keaton have been moving around quite a bit over the last 8 years with Keaton on active duty in the United States Military. Just recently he was promoted to officer and they were able to finally choose a place to call home.
“What it boiled down to was we really wanted to settle down and the option to build was more affordable than buying,” said Katie, who decided to move to Sackets Harbor, NY because it most resembled their hometown in Wisconsin. “We needed to stay affordable and knew exactly what we could pay per square footage. We were so happy when we found the Wilson Creek House Plan because it was small, but perfectly cozy for us.”
The Wilson Creek House Plan is one of The House Designers most popular small Craftsman house plan featuring a lot of living space in its 1,509 footprint. There’s also a basement option for added space.
“This was an easy build and we’re pretty happy that we have enough room,” said Katie, who has two dogs, a cat and toddler. “We are trying right now to sneak out another child before he’s deployed in September for training.”
Like most young couples the Keaton’s had a strict home building budget to follow, which is why Katie spent countless hours shopping online for the best products to design their new home.
I spent a lot of time on websites looking for the best price point and quality,” Katie said. Her diligent shopping allowed them several upgrades like granite countertops, cabinets by Schrock Cabinetry®, Whirlpool® appliances and sinks and faucets from Kraus®.
“We also really appreciated the military discount that was given to us, it was very generous of your company,” Katie said. “We were very pleased with your business and will be sure to use your services again in the future and refer our friends to your site. “
Thanks again,
Katie & Wayne Keaton
