If you aren't 100% ready to commit to a design but want to start getting bids, you can purchase the PDFs NOW! Electronic Bid Set instead. This package will provide you with blueprints stamped "Not for Construction" that you can use to get bids and start figuring out your budget. Full credit will be given when you upgrade to the buildable blueprints of the same plan.
Whether you should buy a PDF or CAD house plan package depends on your needs. If you like the design as-is or only plan to make superficial changes, a PDF house plan will work for you. If you intend to make modifications, you should buy the CAD instead, as this will provide you with editable electronic files that a pro can work with. When the design is finalized, you can get bids and print as many copies as you need.
