About Gillespie Custom Homes

Gillespie Custom Homes is a family owned and run business that serves the Matanuska-Susitna Valley area of Alaska, located about 35 miles north of Anchorage in the Southcentral part of the state. The area is known for huge glacier valleys, fish-filled rivers and lakes, vast mountains, and abundant wildlife. Tim Gillespie, an Alaskan born and raised, has worked in residential construction since 1979—specializing in custom homes since 1996—and his wife, Susan, chooses the house plans they build. Their two sons do most of the construction as subcontractors, and their daughter runs the office. Once a home has been built, Susan again lends her expertise to stage it for photography—a service also available to any owners who want to improve their interior designs. And we can see, the results are outstanding!

Susan has purchased a number of plans through The House Designers since 2011—House Plan 3245, House Plan 7909, and House Plan 4582, to name a few—and Gillespie Custom Homes happily customizes each one for its future owners and to be efficient in the harsh Alaskan climate. Any interested potential clients can bring their own house plans for a quote, but Susan also offers her clients help selecting a design from our diverse collection. The Gillespies build a limited number of homes each year to ensure each one is completed to their high standards and to meet owners’ expectations, so be sure to contact them early to secure your build!
